Torii restaurant reacts after YouTuber claims 'fake paneer served'
Digital Desk: Sarthak Sachdeva, a renowned YouTuber, recently claimed that he spotted fake paneer being served at Torii, a posh Mumbai restaurant owned by actor Shah Rukh Khan's wife and entrepreneur Gauri Khan.
Sarthak shared a video of what he said was a failed purity test, expressing disbelief at the 'result'. In response to his post in the comments area, the restaurant denied the claim, citing the purity of the paneer "and the integrity of our ingredients at Torii."
In the story, Sachdeva runs a food testing, looking for adulteration in paneer served in celebrity-owned eateries. With an iodine tincture in hand, he made his way through some of Mumbai's swankiest places, including Virat Kohli's One8 Commune, Shilpa Shetty's Bastian, and Bobby Deol's Someplace Else. The paneer supplied at all three locations did not react to the test, with no black streaks.
When Sachdeva performed the same test at Gauri Khan's Torii, the paneer turned black upon contact with iodine, prompting Sachdeva to voice his disbelief.

Gauri Khan's owned Torii replied to Sachdeva's tweet, dismissing both the charges and the test. "The iodine test measures the presence of starch, not the true identity of the paneer."
Gauri Khan's Torii is a luxury restaurant in Mumbai's affluent Pali Hill area.
