WPL 2025: RCB women's 1st match victory, defeats Gujarat Giants by 6 wickets

Digital Desk: RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) got off to a great start in the WPL 2025, making the most victorious run chase in tournament history. Chasing a difficult goal of 202, RCB won by six wickets defeating the Gujarat Giants (GG) at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Standout performances in the match included Richa Ghosh's unbeaten 64 off just 27 balls, Ellyse Perry's 57 off 34, and Kanika Ahuja's fast 30 off 13 deliveries.

Richa Ghosh, the star batter for RCB, praised a brave approach and coaching influence for the team's spectacular comeback triumph over Gujarat Giants (GG) in the WPL 2025 opening on February 14.

Ghosh stated the tactical preparation behind RCB's chase during the post-match presentation after being named Player of the Match.

Ghosh added that she and Ahuja remained upbeat even when their team needed 92 runs from 46 balls. Their focus on measured aggression, along with trust in their training, enabled them to successfully complete the hunt.
