CM Sarma invoked the historical passage of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and revolutionaries during the epoch-making event of the Indian Freedom struggle against the British expansionist colonial rule.
Furthermore, during his Independence Day speech, CM Sarma, in what can be understood as an underscoring of the report card highlighting the stats and figures of the centre’s development push for the Look East and Act East policy for the region in general and Assam in particular, further stated that a stretch of 14 km of routes for connectivity has been constructed even as his government in the state clocked a passage of time amounting to over a four-year period.
The Chief Minister also asserted that Assam has figured among the index of emerging developing states in the nation by virtue of development and progress.
The state government in Assam, followed by schools and vibrant cultural troupes, worked in tandem and sync to ensure that the celebrations figured out to be a grand success.
Furthermore, in a vibrant kaleidoscope-like display, cultural troupes from different parts of the state performed at the Independence Day event at the Khanapara ground, showcasing the tapestry of Assam's rich cultural heritage.
