AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam arrested over making communal remarks over recent Pahalgam terror attack
Digital Desk: Assam AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam arrested in Nagaon for anti-India remarks on the Pahalgam attack.
On April 23, Assam Police detained AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam in Nagaon for delivering a deceptive and inciting public remark that went viral, claiming that the Pahalgam terrorist attack was a conspiracy by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The incendiary remark, labeling the attack that killed roughly 26 Hindu tourists in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 as a "BJP-scripted" conspiracy, sparked significant concern for its potential to stoke religious conflict and create a dangerous situation.
As a result, Nagaon Police Station filed Case No. 347/25 against Islam under Sections 152, 196, 197(1), 113(3), 352, and 353 of the BNS for inciting and anti-national statements.
Meanwhile, AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has distanced his party from the controversial remarks made by party MLA Aminul Islam of Dhing over the Pahalgam terror incident to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
