APCC spokesperson’s arrest row: Congress slams Assam CM Sarma; raises concerns on delimitation

Digital Desk: Senior Congress politician Pawan Khera strongly criticized the Assam state government after Assam Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Reetam Singh was arrested, comparing it to previous cases in which party officials were subjected to police action in Assam.

"This reminds us of how various Congress leaders, including myself, have suffered at the hands of the Assam police," said Khera.

He also issued a warning to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, saying, "The CM should keep in mind that his position is temporary. When he sits in the opposition one day, how will he protect his own rights if he keeps violating ours? Gaurav Gogoi is invincible against Himanta Biswa Sarma."

Addressing the topic of delimitation, Khera stated again the party's position, emphasizing that states that have successfully improved social indices and managed population growth should not be penalized by a reduction in Lok Sabha representation.
