Ahmedabad Plane Crash update: London-Bound Air India Flight Crashes Near Airport; Death toll rises to 133
Digital Desk: On Thursday afternoon, at 1.17 PM, Air India aircraft AI-171, heading for London with 242 passengers, and 12 crew members crashed into the Meghani Nagar residential area shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
Heavy flames and thick smoke erupted immediately. A team of firefighters has rushed to the location, and an emergency response team is being deployed. Authorities are yet to confirm the cause of the incident.

Following the unfortunate incident, the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, spoke with the Gujarat Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, regarding this accident.
K. Rammohan Naidu, the Civil Aviation Minister, is soon scheduled to attend the terrible accident scene in Ahmedabad.
