New film in talk titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong'- Story based on Raja Raghuvanshi murder case

Digital Desk: A film based on the horrific murder of Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi is under production, his family stated on Monday. The film, tentatively titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong', will follow the circumstances leading up to Raja's death while on a trip to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam, who is one of the primary accused in the case.

The announcement was made at a news conference held at the Raghuvanshi house in Indore. Raja's elder brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi, stated that the family had permitted for the film to be made to ensure that the truth be shown to the world.

"If we do not bring the story of my brother's murder to the big screen, people will not be able to know who was right and who was wrong," he claimed.

The other brother, named Vipin, added that the video would assist in providing a balanced view of Meghalaya, which has come under the spotlight as a result of the crime.

The film is being directed by SP Nimbawat, who stated that the production attempts to demonstrate how betrayal may have fatal effects.

Nimbawat revealed that the script is finalized, with 80% of the shoot planned in Indore and the remainder in Meghalaya.

We want to make this film so that no one else goes through what Raja did. We will hire Bollywood actors, and the script is nearly complete. The film's main focus will be on the combat scene, namely, how he was killed and what he went through. The film is set to be released worldwide," Nimbawat stated.

Raja Raghuvanshi has visited Meghalaya with his wife Sonam in May. He went missing shortly after, and on June 2, his mangled body was discovered in a steep valley beside a waterfall in Sohra (Cherrapunji), East Khasi Hills area. Police apprehended eight persons, including Sonam and her alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha.
