Arunachal Pradesh: Pasighat-based Bake & Bites takes second prize in national cake competition
Digital desk: Pastry chefs Tacho Taggu and Suresh Sabar of Bake and Bites from Pasighat, East Siang District, represented Arunachal Pradesh and won second place in "Cakeology," a national-level culinary competition held for the first time in the northeast from January 31st to February 2nd at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre in Guwahati.
The patissier team received a well-deserved second place, while a cake artist from Mumbai won first place in the wedding cake category.
World-renowned cake designer Prachi Dhabal Deb and Master Chef winner Chef Nayan Jyoti Saikia judged the competition, and they evaluated the submissions on creativity, workmanship, and innovation.
Taggu and Sabar, chefs of Pasighat-based Bake & Bites, expressed their delight at winning second place in the national cake-baking competition.
Taggu also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in the region. "Instead of relying on white-collar occupations, young people in Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeast should pursue entrepreneurial opportunities like these. "We need to be job providers, not job seekers," said Taggu, who also owns Moody Bliss restaurant and lounge in Pasighat.
To solidify its position in Arunachal Pradesh's expanding culinary scene, Bake & Bites keeps producing designer cakes for weddings, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
