Manipur: Security forces recover two powerful IEDs in Jiribam district
Digital Desk: Security forces in Manipur foiled a potential terror attack after recovering two powerful improvised explosive devices or IEDs during a search operation in Jiribam district.
The IEDs were recovered from the Makha Basti area under the Jiribam district of Manipur near the state’s border with Assam.
Upon receiving specific intelligence inputs, personnel of the Assam Rifles launched an operation in the area, recovering the two IEDs. Both the IEDs weighed 12 kilograms, along with three electric power sources and 12 metres of detonation cord.
A Bomb Disposal Unit was immediately deployed to the site.
The team successfully neutralised the explosives on the spot using service-grade materials.
