Ashok Singhal apologises over bhaona controversy
Digital Desk: Breaking News Coming in at this point... Assam Health Minister Ashok Singhal has apologised over the Bhaona controversy, which has rocked the state’s political landscape.
The Assam Health Minister, who had earlier sparked off a massive controversy over the issue, apologised to the public in Assam over social media
The Assam Minister has stated that he did not want any controversy on the issue.
Earlier, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal had strongly denied allegations that he made an alleged disrespectful remark about Bhaona in Assam, calling the claims at the heart of the massive controversy as ‘Completely False and Baseless.’
In a statement released earlier on March 4, the Assam Minister said that it was unacceptable to try to mislead the public and damage the reputation of venerated saint and seer Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev by associating his name with such a dispute.
Singhal has previously denounced the dissemination of incorrect information, which the Assam Minister described as an "insult to public sentiments."
The Assam Minister, reiterating his stance earlier, demanded an apology from the journalist whom he deemed responsible for the allegation, warning that if an apology was not issued on the part of the Scribe’s end immediately, Singhal would be compelled to take legal action.
