Digital Desk: The Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam is due to reopen on Thursday, October 23, after being shuttered during the monsoon season, officials announced.
Ranger Pranjal Baruah stated that all infrastructure damaged by severe rains had been repaired and restored prior to the reopening. "With winter approaching, the sanctuary is expected to draw large numbers of migratory birds, making it a key attraction for both domestic and international tourists," Baruah told reporters.
Tourists will be able to enjoy jeep and elephant safaris starting on the first day of reopening.
In addition to rhinos, visitors can see leopards, fishing cats, feral buffaloes, wild boars, Chinese pangolins, and several deer species among the sanctuary's grasslands, forests, and wetlands.
