Assam: Communal unrest triggered! CM Sarma notifies arrest of 38 people in Dhubri over beef head incident
Digital Desk: In a major development, 38 individuals were arrested in Dhubri following the communal unrest.
The arrest comes after Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's intervention regarding the communal unrest, as on June 13, 2025, speaking about the unrest he gave a 'shoot-at-sight' order.
Briefing on the situation the unrest followed after a cow's head was discovered in front of a Hanuman temple in Dhubri town on Eid, June 7, according to the chief minister.
The following day, a cow's head was again placed in front of the temple, resulting in fights, he stated on Friday after visiting the affected districts.
The district administration on June 9 placed prohibitory orders in the town, but later they were revoked the following day when the law and order situation improved.
CM Sarma shared the achievement with x, where he stated, "38 arrested overnight in the Dhubri beef head incident."

As per official notification, the state government keeping in view of the communal unrest transferred the district's Senior Superintendent of Police Navin Singh, and appointed Hailakandi SSP Leena Doley.
During CM Sarma's visit to the town, he stated that shoot-at-sight was ordered at night because an outfit was attempting to disrupt the area bordering Bangladesh.
He claimed that an organization called 'Nabin Bangla' had placed posters throughout the area, attempting to integrate Dhubri with Bangladesh.
