Assam: Dhakaipatty in Nagaon has been renamed Rupkonwar Chowk

Digital Desk: In a major development route, a place named Dhakaipatty in Nagaon has been renamed Rupkonwar Chowk. The news was announced during a press conference held at the District Commissioner's office, in the presence of Nagaon District Commissioner Debashish Sarma.

This modification is in line with the order of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the vision of MLA Rupak Sarmah.

Debashish Sarma underlined that the renaming procedure took into account the feelings and opinions of Nagaon locals.

Rupkonwar Chowk will now be the name of the area between Rupkonwar's statue and Satyanya Bhandar; Borbazar will continue to be the name of the adjacent areas.
