Assam: Dry Day announced in Kamrup (M) from May 5, 7 and May 11 for panchayat polls
Digital Desk: In context with the second phase of the Assam panchayat elections, Kamrup Metro district will observe dry days from May 5 to May 7 and May 11 during the vote-counting process.
The Kamrup Metro District Commissioner issued the order on May 2 and states that restrictions on dry days will be in place starting at 4:30 PM on May 5 and will last until 4:30 PM on May 7.
As per the directive, all alcohol-related businesses, including wholesale bonded warehouses, IMFL retail "OFF" and "ON" stores, club "ON" locations, hotel "ON" bars, microbreweries, composite liquor stores, and country liquor outlets, will have to close during this time.
The directive additionally cautions that any infringement of these limitations will be subject to legal action under the current law.
