Assam: Guwahati Police arrest PLA militant linked to insurgency operations in Manipur
Digital Desk: On April 19, Guwahati police nabbed a member of the banned People's Liberation Army (PLA), who was wanted in connection with various insurgent operations in Manipur.
The arrest was handled by Basistha police, with assistance from Gajraj intelligence. The suspect, Mayanglambam Bobby Singh from Kakching district, was discovered hiding in a guesthouse in Paltan Bazar. Authorities suspect he was staying at another hotel in Beharbari in the days before the operation.
According to DCP East Mrinal Deka, who briefed the media on April 20, Singh, 31, was actively involved in several armed operations in Manipur. He is currently in police custody and being interrogated.
Officials have not ruled out chances of additional arrests while the investigation is underway.
