Assam: Guwahati's Crime Branch arrests woman over anti-national remarks on Pahalgam attack
Digital Desk: A woman from Golaghat district was detained by Guwahati's Crime Branch for allegedly making "controversial" and "anti-national" comments on the Pahalgam terror attack, according to a police official.
The woman was later handed over to the Golagat police, who then arrested her.
Reportedly, Golaghat Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajen Singh informed ANI a day earlier, "A woman named Dadhichi Dimple alias Dimple Baruah from Golaghat district of Assam was detained by the Crime Branch from Guwahati for making controversial and anti-national comments on the #Pahalgam TerrorAttack."
He added, "She was later turned over to the Golaghat Police. The Golaghat police apprehended her and sent her to the Golaghat police station."
On April 22, a tragedy struck in the Baisaran meadow in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, killing up to 26 persons, most of them tourists.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has supported the arrest of AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam, claiming that it was appropriate based on his alleged pro-Pakistan sentiments.
