Assam: Zubeen Garg Memorial Botanical Garden inaugurated on the banks of the Buroi River in Gohpur

Digital Desk: In honor of revered artist Zubeen Garg, a "Zubeen Garg Memorial Botanical Garden" has been established on almost 10,000 hectares of land in Gohpur, India.

The residents of Gamiri supported the initiative, which was spearheaded by Bakul Gogoi, popularly known as the "Tree Man," and was supported by nature lovers under the guidance of Aamar Bonani.

This botanical endeavor was supposed to be launched by Zubeen Garg himself.

The tree, now known as the "Zubeen Tree," has been lovingly cared for and maintained by Bakul Gogoi since 2017.

In Zubeen Garg's honor, about 20 Nahor trees (Mesua ferrea) were planted with the help of locals and Zubeen's supporters.

Approximately 300 plant species are currently housed in the botanical garden.

Additionally, Aamar Bonani, coordinator, and Tree Man Bakul Gogoi have urged Assamese citizens and Zubeen's supporters to plant additional trees in the garden.
