Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma meets ISRO chairman V. Narayanan

 

Digital Desk: Assam is set to launch its own satellite, ASSAMSAT, with the support of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The initiative aims to enhance flood forecasting, strategic planning, border surveillance, and socio-economic data collection across the state.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan in New Delhi to discuss the project's details, which will be executed in collaboration with ISRO and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe).

The project has garnered comprehensive support from ISRO, with Chairman Narayanan assuring the state's chief minister of the space agency's assistance.

In a separate meeting, CM Sarma discussed ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects in Assam with Dr. Krishan Kumar, Managing Director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL). Key projects include.
