Assam Govt Declares 3 Days of Mourning for Zubeen Garg
Digital Desk: The Assam government has expressed deep sorrow and grief at the tragic death of Zubeen Garg, a renowned musician, filmmaker, and cultural icon. In his honor, the state has designated a three-day period of mourning from September 20 to 22, 2025.
Throughout the mourning period, all official entertainment events, dinners, and ceremonial occasions will be canceled. As a token of respect, Seva Saptah programmes involving ceremonial gatherings or the delivery of benefits have been postponed.

The state government has asked people to continue their necessary activities throughout the mourning time while showing appropriate respect.
However, service-oriented activities such as health camps, Nikshay Mitra support for tuberculosis sufferers, and plantation efforts will proceed as planned.
Amidst the announcement, it was also notified that Assam CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is expected to leave for Delhi at 3 PM today. CM Sarma will be accompanied by Union Minister Pabitra Margherita on a special flight. Important meetings are anticipated during this high-profile visit to the nation's capital; however, the exact itinerary has not yet been made public.
