Assam Govt updates on restoring back the mobile internet services in Baksa

Digital Desk: The Baksa district's temporary mobile internet service suspension was lifted by the Assam government on Friday.

The action was taken on October 15 in response to disturbances outside Baksa District Jail that resulted in at least 21 injuries, including civilians, journalists, and police officers.

In a notice dated October 17, Sri Ajay Tewari, Additional Chief Secretary, Home & Political Department, stated that the situation in Baksa has now stabilized and that there is no longer a risk of public disturbance or peace violations.

Consequently, data and mobile internet services have been reinstated immediately across the region.
