Assam, Margherita: Thousands gather for Ram Navami; 32 couples marry on pious occasion

Digital Desk: On Sunday, April 6, the Margherita Tea Estate's Top Side Playground celebrated the important festival of Shri Shri Ram Navami with zeal and dedication.

In addition to customary practices and cultural activities, the celebration included a sizable mass wedding ceremony, which heightened the joyous atmosphere of the day.

The Sanatan Dharma tradition places a special emphasis on Ram Navami, which marks the birth of Lord Rama, who is thought to be the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The Hindu Tea Tribes groups from Margherita, Dirok, Namdang Tea Estate, and Lama Gaon, as well as the people of Margherita town, united to plan a daylong festival in honor of this holy day.

One of the event's main features was a huge religious procession attended by nearly 5,000 people. The lively procession, complete with chants, music, and religious displays, created a sense of spiritual togetherness and celebration throughout the region.

A beautiful parallel event occurred at the same venue, where 32 couples married in a collective ceremony, marking an important social and cultural milestone for the town.

The Ram Navami celebrations and mass wedding, which combined spiritual devotion and social concord, generated a very festive and memorable environment across the Margherita community.
