Assam Panchayat Results: Landslide victory for BJP and allies in Assam

Digital Desk: The recent Assam Panchayat elections have been a defining moment for the state's political landscape, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies emerging victorious in a landslide win. The results, which were underway since 8 am on Sunday, May 11, have shown a clear trend of the BJP's dominance in the state.

The BJP and its ally, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), have secured an overwhelming majority in both the Zilla Parishad and Anchalik Panchayat seats.

The Congress has also experienced significant blows in Upper Assam areas, such as Jorhat and Sivasagar, which are part of the Jorhat Parliamentary seat.

On May 2 and 7, elections were conducted in two rounds in 27 districts of Assam.
