Assam Rises On Radar: Among Top Users Of NATGRID For Intelligence Ops

Digital Desk: The year 2025 brings luck for the state; Assam emerges as one of the top-performing states to develop the NATGRID (National Intelligence Grid) technology, significantly by improving its internal security and surveillance capabilities.

The NATGRID technology, which was created to improve India's counterterrorism and intelligence-gathering systems, enables law enforcement agencies to easily access and analyze the data. Assam Police's proactive utilization of this tool has helped to improve intelligence operations while also ensuring peace and security throughout the state.

NATGRID Chief Executive Officer Piyush Goyal, IAS, praised Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra for their productive and regular use of the intelligence platform from January to June of this year in a letter dated July 3, 2025, sent to all DGPs and Heads of Police throughout states and UTs.

Assam's efficient and proactive use of NATGRID is now being viewed as a model for other states to emulate in strengthening national security through smart policing.
