Assam visit by President Murmu postponed due to terrorist attacks in J&K

Digital Desk: In response to the terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir, officials announced on April 23 that President Droupadi Murmu had postponed her planned two-day visit to Assam, which was originally slated to commence on April 24.

In order to participate in two formal events the following day, Murmu was scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on the evening of April 24.

"The Rashtrapati Bhavan notified us via correspondence that the visit would be postponed because of the attack. A representative of the Assam Governor's Secretariat informed PTI that the event would be rescheduled at a later time.

At a state government event on Friday, Murmu was supposed to present dance proponent Sonal Mansingh with the Srimanta Sankardeva Award.
