Badruddin Ajmal distances party Reacting after MLA Aminul Islam's controversial remarks on Pahalgam attack

Digital Desk: AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has distanced his party after the controversial comments made by MLA Aminul Islam of Dhing, who was arrested over his links to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Ajmal stated that the remarks were personal views of Islam and did not reflect the party's stance. He clarified that the party stands with the state government and that terrorists are terrorists without any caste or religion.

The AIUDF chairman further stated that the party had already released a statement condemning the Pahalgam incident, which had been published in national newspapers.

Islam's detention comes after significant reactions to his remarks at a campaign rally, in which he claimed that both the Pulwama and Pahalgam assaults were related to the central government, increasing suspicions about the role of senior officials.

The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biwa Sarma has already hinted at action against Islam for his comments, urging for accountability for everyone who supports anti-national elements.
