Digital Desk: On Thursday, a bus carrying pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi's cave shrine went off the Jammu-Pathankot highway and plummeted into a george in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, killing one and injuring 39 others, according to officials.
The tragedy occurred in Jatwal, when a bus carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh to Katra blew a tire and went off the roadway near a minor bridge, according to officials.
The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Iqbal Singh of Amroha, as per reports.
The injured were taken to the hospital in Samba after a rescue operation was initiated. Later on, seven of them were admitted to AIIMS Vijaypur.
