Digital Desk: On Sunday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) declared that it has updated the timetable for the current Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in 12 States and Union Territories, prolonging all pertinent deadlines by one week.

The review is taking place with January 1, 2026, as the eligibility date. Additionally, ECI has established February 10, 2026 (Tuesday) as the cut-off date for verifying the health parameters of electoral rolls and securing the Commission’s consent for the final publication.

The enumeration phase and polling station adjustments will finish by December 11, 2025. Control table updates and draft roll preparations are scheduled for December 12–15, 2025.

The preliminary electoral roll will be released on December 16, 2025, with claims and objections accepted until January 15, 2026. The notification stage for claims resolution by EROs runs from December 16, 2025, to February 7, 2026.

The official electoral list will be released on February 14, 2026 (Saturday).
