CM Sarma announces visit by PM Modi in Assam on September 8 for key government programmes

Digital Desk: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Assam on September 8 for a number of government events.

Sarma informed reporters that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be visiting Assam on September 8 and would be attending three government programs, but he did not elaborate on the specifics of the events.

Sarma also said that the Prime Minister would attend three formal events during the tour, but he did not elaborate.

The trip to Assam will come after PM Modi's July 18 tour of West Bengal and Bihar, during which he would unveil and inaugurate infrastructure projects totaling more than ₹12,000 crore. During his visit to Motihari, Bihar, on July 18, Modi is expected to unveil projects worth more than ₹7,200 crore.
