CM Sarma to go live to clear matter regarding Zubeen Garg’s death probe; latest Statement Hints suspicion

Digital Desk: In a statement about the ongoing investigation into singer Zubeen Garg's death in Singapore, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma suggested that the artist might have been murdered.

The statement comes after selective excerpts can occasionally cause misunderstandings, the Chief Minister stated that he would go live on social media to address the issue.

"Everything I said in my Facebook Live yesterday is true," the Chief Minister told reporters on Saturday. I'll go live once more if I have anything more to share. This is due to the fact that reporters frequently edit my live sessions to only display specific parts, which occasionally causes miscommunications. In order for everyone in Assam to hear the entire message at once, I prefer to speak via Facebook Live.

The CM's comments coincide with increased public anxiety and conjecture regarding the circumstances of Zubeen Garg's premature death in Singapore.

CM Sarma declared on Friday that the inquiry into Zubeen Garg's death will be supervised by a judicial commission. Justice Soumitra Saikia, a current Gauhati High Court judge, will lead the commission and oversee the investigation.

Regarding the development, he stated that the state government had appealed to the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court to form a judicial commission for Zubeen Garg's case for the first time.

In addition, the appeal asked that a current High Court judge, not a retired one, lead the commission. In response to this request, Justice Soumitra Saikia was named the commission's chairperson by the Chief Justice.
