Digital Desk: Late Friday night, a cloudburst in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand caused flash floods and extensive damage in the Tharali area and left one person dead and another missing.

Following the cloudburst, which caused debris to sweep through homes and structures, several persons are thought to be missing.

Debris covered the Tharali tehsil complex and the Tharali market area.

Many residential areas were also buried, including the official dwelling, stores, and cars of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).

Rescue efforts are still underway, according to officials, and residents have left their homes. Additionally, a number of stores in the Chepdon market district sustained damage.
