Congress call for unity; Gaurav Gogoi, Kharge, RaGa, among others, hail Operation Sindoor

Digital Desk: India's major attack on Pakistan brings the opposition party a little closer, as on May 7, Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi praised India's operation on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Gogoi wrote on his X account, "I applaud the initiative taken by the Armed Forces and the government in last night's punitive air strikes."

"Now is the time for national unity and solidarity with our Armed Forces. Jai Hind!" he responded.

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces launched missile attacks on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir early Wednesday, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and the Lashkar-e-Taiba base in Muridke.

The military strikes were carried out under the name 'Operation Sindoor', two weeks after the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.

Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stated that India has a firm national policy against all types of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and the People's Republic of Kashmir.

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, wrote on X, "I am proud of our armed forces. Jai Hind!"

According to Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, "India's commitment to eliminating all sources of terrorism in Pakistan and Kashmir must be unwavering and always be anchored in the supreme national interest."

In a post in Hindi on X, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stated, "We are greatly proud of our soldiers. Our brave soldiers defend our freedom and integrity."
