Cyclone Montha: 2-Day Yellow Alert Issued by IMD for Assam
Digital Desk: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its most recent bulletin on Wednesday that Cyclone Montha weakened into a deep depression over coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighboring Telangana after making landfall along the Andhra Pradesh coast late Tuesday night.
The IMD has issued a two-day yellow alert for Assam on October 31 and November 1, predicting heavy rainfall in isolated areas as the system moves north-northwestward at about 15 kmph while gradually losing strength.
Over the next two days, Assam may experience moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds, especially in the southern and central districts, according to the IMD's weather warning graphics.
