DA hiked by 3 per cent for Central govt employees and pensioners- Cabinet decision
Digital Desk: Good news for central government employees and pensioners as 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) was approved by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, October 1. This move will help almost one crore people nationwide.
Effective July 1, 2025, the updated allowance will act as a cost-of-living adjustment to counteract inflation. The Dearness Allowance is updated twice a year, usually in January and July, in response to shifts in the industrial workers' Consumer Price Index (CPI), which tracks inflationary trends.
Both current and retired employees should benefit financially from the most recent revision, particularly in light of growing household expenses.
The government hopes to make sure that workers and retirees are better prepared to handle the effects of price increases on necessities by coordinating the hike with CPI data.
