PM Modi turns 75 today!

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 75 today, marking yet another milestone in a political journey that began in Gujarat and now spans over two decades at the highest levels of leadership.

Born on September 17, 1950, in the modest town of Mehsana in Gujarat, Narendra Damodardas Modi rose through the ranks to serve as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for three consecutive terms (2001–2014) before assuming the office of Prime Minister in 2014. He is currently serving his third term as India's Prime Minister.

As has been the tradition over the years, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch the annual ‘Sewa Pakhwara’ – a fortnight-long series of welfare events and public service activities across the country. The initiative is aimed at celebrating PM Modi’s commitment to citizen welfare and his philosophy of “service to mankind”.

Unlike conventional birthday celebrations, PM Modi has consistently chosen to spend the day engaging in public service, launching key welfare initiatives, or directly interacting with citizens.

Continuing this practice, PM Modi will be in Madhya Pradesh today to launch two major nationwide campaigns — Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar and the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah. These initiatives represent the country’s largest health outreach for women and children to date and are expected to significantly boost nutrition and healthcare access across India.

These efforts come at a time when the government is doubling down on grassroots-level healthcare and social welfare schemes, particularly targeting vulnerable populations.
