Delhi’s apartment at Dwarka Fire Incident; escape attempt fails, father with his 2 children cited dead

 

Digital Desk: On Tuesday morning, three family members died after jumping from a balcony to escape a fire at a flat in Delhi's Dwarka Sector 13.

Two children, a boy, and a girl, both aged ten, were certified dead upon arrival at Akash Hospital. Their father, Yash Yadav, 35, who was purportedly involved in the flex board industry, also jumped from the balcony and was declared dead at IGI Hospital, as reported by police.

According to initial reports, the fire began around 9.58 a.m. and went through the eighth and ninth floors of the Shabad Apartment complex. According to Delhi Fire Services personnel, five fire crews were dispatched to the spot to put out the fire.

Police have alerted the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to assess the building's structural stability. Medical and support personnel have been dispatched to Akash and IGI hospitals to assist the affected family.

According to data acquired from Delhi Fire Services, May and June saw the greatest number of fire occurrences this year.
