Delhi Assembly Election 2025: 19.95 per cent voter turnout recorded till 11 am
Digital Desk: Voting for the Delhi assembly elections, which will choose a 70-member House, began at 7 am today, February 5, and will continue until 6 pm at 13,766 polling places in the nation's capital, resulting in a fierce tripartite between the AAP, Congress, and BJP.
The recorded voter turnout as of 11 a.m. was 19.95 percent. This is nearly 3 percentage points higher than the voter turnout during the last elections in 2020.
Among the prominent figures who cast ballots early in the day were President Droupadi Murmu, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, S Jaishankar, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, AAP leader Manish Sisodia, BJP's Bansuri Swaraj, and Congress' Alka Lamba.
The 2025 Assembly Election will determine who will manage the Union Territory for the next five years. Voting for the single-phase Delhi Assembly Election commenced at 7 a.m. at 13,033 polling booths.
AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal voted along with his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, son, and parents and votes at Lady Irwin Senior Secondary School.
