Digital desk: It appears that comedian Samay Raina, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, and the other panelists from the most recent episode of India's Got Latent won't be getting any rest anytime soon since they have been charged with "promoting sexually explicit and obscene discussion" once more. Assam Police filed the FIR, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma himself provided the information.
The Guwahati Police have filed a formal complaint against Samay, Ranveer, Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, and others "for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion in a show titled India's Got Latent," according to CM Sarma's post on his official X handle.
He stated that an investigation into the situation is now in progress.
For those who are still unaware of the full narrative, it all started when Samay, the presenter of India's Got Latent, welcomed Ranveer, Apoorva, and Ashish as guests in the most recent show.
"Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life — or would you join in once and stop it forever?" Ranveer questioned one of the contestants during the show. The purported "joke" caused Apoorva and Samay to burst into laughter.
Netizens took offense at this and blasted the show and its makers for encouraging obscenity on the internet. Ranveer later apologized, claiming that he had made a "lapse in judgement."
Additionally, a complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Police against Ranveer, Samay, and Apoorva for allegedly using "abusive language" and "promoting obscenity" on the show.
In addition to denouncing the incident, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis promised "strict action" will be taken.".
