Digital Desk: In a political war of words, Assam MP Gaurav Gogoi digs into the ruling opposition party, and says, the installation of President's rule in Manipur was "symbolic of the collective failure" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the BJP's leadership in the Northeast.
Gogoi wrote on his official X account, "The imposition of President's Rule in Manipur is symbolic of the collective failure of the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and the party leadership in the Northeast."

President's rule was declared in strife-torn Manipur on Thursday. The ethnic unrest began in May 2023 and resulted in harrowing conflicts across the state, killing over 250 individuals and displacing thousands more.
According to the Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, there is "still no roadmap for sustainable peace and reconciliation" in Manipur.
Gogoi further stated that "it may be argued that the President's Rule exists solely because the state BJP is in total disarray. People in Manipur and India deserve better."
