Gujarat: A bus fell into a gorge, killing 5 and injuring 17

Digital desk: A private bus carrying pilgrims plunged down a deep gorge in Gujarat's Dang district early Sunday morning, killing five people and injuring 17 others, according to authorities.

The accident occurred about 4.15 a.m. when the bus driver lost control of the wheels near the Saputara hill station, according to in-charge Superintendent of Police SG Patil.

The bus, which was carrying 48 pilgrims, smashed through the crash barrier and dropped 35 feet into the gorge, he said.

According to the official, five people died on the spot, including two women and three men.
