Guwahati Tragedy: Debris from building fell on young girl, loses life

Digital Desk: A tragic incident was reported from the Chatribari locality in Guwahati in Assam, where a young girl lost her life after debris from a building fell on her.

The accident occurred when a piece of stone from the upper part of the Sifani Guesthouse fell on the child while she was asleep.

The victim was identified as Papiya Barman.

She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

Her body has been sent to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital morgue for further procedures.

Following the incident, residents raised concerns about the safety and legality of the building, alleging that it had been constructed without proper authorization.

Meanwhile, heavy deployments of police and other security personnel could be seen outside the building where the incident took place.

Locals took to the streets, demanding legal action against the building authorities
