Guwahati couple's live-in relation ends in tragedy

Digital Desk: A man was found dead in a rented house in the Kahilipara area in Guwahati, where he was living with his girlfriend. According to reports, the man, identified as Nabajyoti Talukdar, allegedly killed himself.

The deceased’s girlfriend, Sushmita Das, also tried to kill herself by slitting her wrist. She is currently admitted to a private hospital in Guwahati.

The couple hails from Nalbari, Assam.

According to the apartment's owner, the couple had claimed to be married when renting the house.

According to reports, the two had been living together for around a year.

Sources indicate that tension had been escalating between the two for quite some time, prompting them to take the extreme step.

Police rushed to the scene after receiving information and sent the deceased’s body for a post-mortem.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
