Guwahati traffic police issues traffic advisory along NH-27

Digital Desk: Guwahati is experiencing considerable traffic inconvenience along the Khanapara–Jorabat section of National Highway 27 owing to regular construction activities to improve road pavement quality.

In response to the growing inconvenience for commuters, the Guwahati Traffic Police on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory along the Khanapara to Jorabat section of NH-27 to ease the traffic congestion due to the ongoing PQC panel placement work undertaken by NHAI.

A key component of the new traffic management plan is the complete diversion of all goods-carrying vehicles destined for Guwahati from Upper Assam.

All goods-carrying vehicles headed to Guwahati from Upper Assam will now be diverted at Kaliabor Tiniali and rerouted through Sonitpur–Darrang–Baihata Chariali to ease congestion on the Jorabat junction.

Besides, a time-restricted entry system has been implemented for Nagaon, Morigaon, and Meghalaya goods vehicles, permitting entry into Guwahati city limits through NH-27 from 10 PM to 6 AM only.

Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) from Upper Assam are requested to avoid the Khanapara–Jorabat corridor and use the recommended alternative routes.
