IMD predicts further rainfall and thunderstorms for Guwahati till June 8
Digital Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast further rainfall and thunderstorms for Guwahati and its surrounding areas until June 8, indicating a sharp departure from the sweltering summer of 2024.
The change in weather patterns has resulted in a shorter summer season in several parts of India.
Cloudy skies and irregular rain are predicted to remain across Guwahati Airport, Dispur, and IIT Guwahati during the next seven days, according to the prediction.
Meteorologists believe that greater moisture flow and less solar heating due to high cloud cover have avoided the typical rise in temperature that accompanies the Indian summer peak levels.
