India celebrates 76th Republic Day- President Murmu unfurls the tricolor; Prabowo Subianto special guest for this year
Digital Desk: India celebrates its 76th Republic Day on January 26, 2025, marking the implementation of the Constitution in 1950.
President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag at Kartavya Path, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
Along with Prabowo Subianto, the president of Indonesia, Droupadi Murmu arrived at Kartavya Path in a traditional wagon also called a "buggy."
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the special guest for this year's Republic Day, making him the fourth Indonesian president to attend India's Republic Day celebrations.
Republic Day this year has as its theme "Swarnim Bharat - Virasat aur Vikas."
The event included a 21-gun salute, the national anthem, and 16 tableaux representing India's diverse cultures, landscapes, and achievements.
The parade showcased India's cutting-edge defense technology, including the BrahMos, Pinaka, and Akash defense platforms.
The Army's Battle Surveillance System 'Sanjay' and DRDO's surface-to-surface tactical missile 'Pralay' will debut, marking significant military advancements.
