In addition to winning him the championship trophy, his triumph signaled a significant international debut for Indian esports.
The result of years of consistent advancement in the Pokémon GO circuit is Beelzeboy's victory in Anaheim.
With his first victory in an S-tier tournament, Beelzeboy has now solidified his place among the world's top players.
Out of the $100,000 prize pool, Beelzeboy took home $20,000 as the winner. His victory, however, is much more significant than the money because it marks India's first-ever esport world title and formally establishes the nation as a major player in the world of competitive gaming.
India's esports community is celebrating the win, and supporters are praising him as a trailblazer and role model for upcoming mobile gaming generations.
Beelzeboy's victory in Anaheim is not just a one-off achievement. By demonstrating that Indian players are capable of competing—and winning—at the highest levels, it represents the emergence of Indian esports.
