PT Usha expressed joy on getting India’s bid to host the Commonwealth Games 2030 officially by IOA

Digital Desk: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has officially approved the country's candidacy to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030.

The decision was made during the IOA's Special General Meeting (SGM) in New Delhi on Wednesday. India had already submitted an Expression of Interest to host the CWG 2030 and now has until August 31 to submit its final bid plan.

"I am pleased that everyone is present; it was a unanimous decision, and our preparations will proceed," IOA President PT Usha stated following the meeting.
The General Assembly of Commonwealth Sport will decide on the final host nation for the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow during the last week of November.

Commonwealth Sport officials, led by Director of Games Darren Hall, recently traveled to Ahmedabad to evaluate possible venues and meet with Gujarat government authorities. A larger delegation is anticipated later this month.

Officials from the IOA have confirmed that if India wins the bid, they will work hard to make the 2030 edition a full-fledged event. Kalyan Chaubey, the Joint Secretary, has also advocated for the inclusion of indigenous sports such as kho kho, kabaddi, and others.
