Digital Desk: Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles [MoS (PM)] Pabitra Margherita will be heading a high-level Indian delegation to the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on April 18-19, 2025.

Notably, this tour is part of the ASEAN-India Tourism Professionals Exchange Programme 2025.

The plan is consistent with the designation of 2025 as the "ASEAN-India Year of Tourism," made at the 21st ASEAN-India Summit last year.

The tourism exchange project, sponsored in association with the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) under the ASEAN-India Fund, aims to develop regional cooperation and promote India's immense tourism potential, with a particular emphasis on the Northeast region.

Individuals with expertise in the travel sector, such as tour operators and industry experts, will be part of the Indian delegation, which will highlight the country's varied travel options.

It is anticipated that the gathering will improve understanding between the ASEAN countries and India, cultivate business alliances, and create new opportunities for cultural and economic exchanges.

In order to strengthen the trade and people-to-people ties between the two nations, MoS (PM) Pabitra Margherita is also anticipated to hold bilateral meetings and interactions with prominent business leaders and members of the Indian diaspora in Malaysia during the visit.
