India targets Pak military assets in retaliatory action

Digital Desk: India has targeted Pakistani military assets in a retaliatory action.

This was confirmed by the defence and external affairs ministries in a joint media briefing on Saturday morning.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh informed that Indian armed forces took a quick and well-planned retaliatory action and targeted technical installations, command and control centres, radar sites and arms stores of Pakistan.

This military action of India followed Pakistan’s deliberate targeting of Indian air bases.

She said that Pakistan’s military bases at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Chunian were targeted through air launch, precision ammunition and fighter jets.

Radar site in Pasrur and the aviation base in Sialkot were also targeted with precision ammunition.

During these actions, India ensured minimum collateral damage and losses.

On the other hand, the Pakistani military was observed moving troops into forward areas with India.

This was stated by Col. Sofia Qureshi.

She described the Pakistani military movement as a provocative action.

Col. Sofiya Qureshi added that Pakistan has continued with its attacks on India’s western borders with drones, missiles and fighter jets to target military sites, including air bases and civilian infrastructure.

Pakistani attacks have damaged equipment and personnel at Indian air force bases in Udhampur, Bhuj, Pathankot and Bathinda.

Col. Sofiya Qureshi further raised concerns over Pakistan’s act of using civilian aircrafts taking off from Lahore as shields to launch its drone and missile attacks.

Such tactics compelled the Indian air defence system to act with great patience while ensuring civilian security.

Meanwhile, foreign secretary Vikram Misri has reiterated that India responded to Pakistan’s provocation with measured action.

Misri stated that India has defended and reacted to Pakistani missile and drone attacks in a responsible and measured fashion.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the killing of a senior government official owing to heavy Pakistani shelling in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri.
