Indore missing couple: Raincoat suspected to be of Sonam Raghuvanshi found, murder weapon recovered

Digital Desk: The police have recovered a raincoat from Mawk-ma near Sohra, which is suspected to be of missing Sonam Raghuvanshi from Indore. However, a forensic analysis confirmation is still awaited.

The raincoat is similar to what was recovered from the decomposed body of Sonam’s husband, Raja Raghuvanshi.

The raincoat was found around 5-8 kilometres away from where Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was recovered.

Raja Raghuvanshi’s decomposed body was recovered on June 02 from Wei-saw-dong Falls in Sohra.

Meanwhile, the Meghalaya police have confirmed that the couple from Indore—Raja Raghuvanshi, who was in Meghalaya with his wife, Sonam, on a honeymoon trip—was murdered.

The police have recovered the murder weapon—a machete—from near the body of Raja Raghuvanshi.

East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem confirmed that Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered beyond doubt and the motive for the crime is being investigated.

The case is being investigated by a special investigation team headed by SP Herbert Khar-kongor, who is assisted by four DSPs and two sub-inspectors.

Meanwhile, the search operation has been intensified to locate missing Sonam Raghuvanshi.
