Mahakumbh 2025: Stampede breaks out ahead of Mauni Amavasya, several injured

According to reports, a significant number of pilgrims arrived for a holy bath on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, resulting in a stampede-like situation that injured several.

The government of Uttar Pradesh expected 10 crore pilgrims to visit the Maha Kumbh in one day and had increased security in preparation for the 'Amrit Snan'.

As the state administration handles a situation akin to a stampede, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked the public to exercise patience and not trust rumors. Devotees might take a holy plunge at the nearest ghats instead of rushing to Sangam nose, he stated.
